Reprocessed a previous photo, using PhotoTune 2, a PhotoShop plug-in from OnOne Software.
I think this is a big improvement and the tool was super-easy to use. This was the first time I used it.

Beautiful sunset, caused by lots of smoke out over the ocean from the fires to the north of us. When we arrived at the park for a night training, it was 95° (35° C), at 6:30 PM. By the time we left at 10:30, it had cooled off to 85° (29° C). Poway is about 25 miles (25 miles Canadian) from the ocean, so it is not really influenced by it.

Museums - San Diego really does it up big! The USS Midway (CVB 41 - you can see the 41 when viewed Large) served from the end of WWII through the Gulf War and is now a museum and a popular tourist attraction.

I had actually stopped by the northeast side of Coronado Island, on my way home from work on the west side, in order to shoot the San Diego skyline as the sun was setting, since the light had been so beautiful at this time the last couple of days. I was having so much fun that I decided to wait until dark and shoot some night shots. When I was just about to leave, I noticed they were setting off fireworks from the Midway. I was so surprised and thought it was so cool that it didn't dawn on me for about 30 seconds that I should try to capture the display. The fireworks weren't that spectacular, but I think the shots came out pretty well for my initial attempt.

We got to train our search dogs here, this morning - just in the stands, not on the field. It was quite interesting: the dogs could pick up the subjects' scent, but had a very hard time locating them. It seems like their scent was everywhere and there was no wind to create a scent cone.

The trailing dogs had an even harder time than the area search dogs, I think. I got frustrated with Jessie after a while and tried to push her down a couple of the isles, rather than waiting for her to re-capture the trail. It was funny, though, because she was facing me and neither one of us was going to give up. Being the human, I won, but she wouldn't turn around (probably because there wasn't room), so she just walked backward all the way down the aisle. Not exactly the picture of the perfect trailing dog. :-)

The grass was incredible! It was only about an inch high and so consistent, right up to paths between the bases, that it looked fake, but it wasn't. The dirt was also perfect. I wish I would have had more time there to make some art with all the beautiful colors, patterns and textures.

Check out the Original size or View On Black to really see what a beautiful ball park this is.

Our K-9 Search and Rescue group, Southwest Search Dogs, was asked to participate in a static display as part of the Oceanside 5K Memorial Run, honoring fallen Oceanside Police Department Officer Dan Bessant. This is one of the shots I took during breaks from answering people's questions about our dogs.
