NEW PHOTOGRAPHS! It’s been over six months since I’ve put out any new work. Over the last couple years I’ve been in the longest and deepest rut of my creative life, despite having some flashes of productivity. I believe that spell was broken this past fall, when I spent two months photographing my beloved deserts of Utah. This new collection of 30 images is the result: www.alexnoriega.com/2021

Possibly my favorite image from nearly a month spent around Zion this past fall. I'm at my best when I remain open to whatever nature presents me, rather than trying to plan photographs in advance. My favorites are rarely anything I envisioned beforehand.

Intense sunrise light, Stanton Mountain, low hanging fog, and all of it reflected in a frigid lake in Montana. Speaking of frigid, it’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale time! How do those two things correlate? They don’t, I just couldn’t find a good segue to shill my tutorial videos. Anyway, you can use the discount code HAPPYHOLIDAYS40 to get 40% off any and all Photoshop tutorials at www.ryandyar.com and learn exactly how I create my photos. My apologies for the flagrant promotion but, you know, I’m just a self-employed artist trying to make a living.

Earlier this week I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the owner of this beautiful ranch house and receiving a personal tour of this incredible home. The word “incredible” doesn’t really do it justice as every room is literally jaw dropping. It was a wonderful experience to learn about the home’s creation (5 years to build), the family history as well as the history of Marin county. Suffice to say I’m truly honored that one of my prints will be soon hanging on the wall here. It is experiences like these that further solidify my desire to shoot locally and spotlight the beauty of my local area.
