SUMMER PARADISE
Vancouver Island is a temperate rainforest, part of the Pacific Northwest ecosystem. The dense forest floors are home to a variety of mosses, lichens, ferns, shrubs and wild flowers. Many creeks like the one shown wind their way down through mountainous areas where they eventually mix into the salty ocean. During the dry warmer months, the creeks flow much less and there are wonderful cool areas under the canopy of trees to cool off and enjoy the pretty views that surround you! By 10:43 am (when I took this photo) some sun rays were finding their way through the forest branches accenting some areas along the creek.

SUNNY REFLECTIONS
After climbing down a steep embankment, I am pleasantly greeted by a beautiful creek. A few sun rays make it through the thick canopy of trees, accenting moss and fern covered rocks and adding sunny reflections on the waters surface. The sound of water cascading over the rocks is calming to the ears, as one takes in the warm air and summer colors and surroundings.

A beautiful scene along the "Going To The Sun Road" in Glacier National Park, Montana, US. St Mary's Lake can be seen on the east side of Glacier National Park. This beautiful ten mile long, deep Aqua shaded lake is surrounded by tall Glacial mountains. The little island on the lake is called Wild Goose Island. I could so easily sit and enjoy taking this scene in from the dawn to dusk!

Old country barns covered and surrounded in winter snow.
This shot was taken on January 9th, 2005 along a rural country road on SOUTH EAST VANCOUVER ISLAND, B.C., CANADA ( PACIFIC NORTHWEST). We do receive snow once in awhile on Vancouver Island as shown, but typically, due to our milder winter temperatures, the snow doesn’t normally stay long. In Jan of 2005, we were lucky to have the temperatures stay cold enough, so the snow could stay for awhile!
