I submitted a series of six ice fishing hut images to the Sony World Photography Awards (the six you've already seen here on Flickr), but there were a few others from my trip in December 2019 that I discovered recently when I finally had time to go through all the images. I hope you are not overwhelmed with huts, but I give you a few more.
Compared to the previous year, when I went in December 2019, there was a lot less snow on the lake. The ice made for great reflections and slippery conditions, both.
Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba.
I wrote a short blog post about this trip to Manitoba (and North Dakota) to photograph these ice fishing huts in December, 2019.
If you'd like, take a look at the the rest of the images in this ice fishing hut series.

I'm finally getting to my shots from Oregon. I thought I'd start with the night images, so here's a panorama from Crater Lake. Shooting at night is so difficult that whenever I get a shot that works, I'm always slightly surprised and more than a little thrilled.
If you'd like, feel free to take a look at my other night photography images.
I've also put this image in with my others from my two trips to the Pacific Northwest (Oregon/Washington)

There wasn't much opportunity for night photography on my recent trip to Newfoundland. The window to shoot was pretty narrow - at Cape St. George there is only 40 minutes of true darkness in June - and the skies were often overcast. On this night, the wind was howling at the Cape and it was a pretty scary experience standing up on a cliff side in the dark, but beautiful, as always, to see the Milky Way.

These are getting more and more minimal.
Before heading to the Rockies last month I spent a couple of days shooting outside Edmonton with Jim Heny. One day we had overcast skies, which made for nice, simple compositions in the snow.

A lovely sunset over Mount Rundle from Vermilion Lakes.
This pic is from a lovely week I spent in the Rockies (Banff and Jasper) with Jim. If you'd like, take a look at the rest of the images from my 2015 trip to the Rockies.
