I saw this guy walking down 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter and immediately recognized he was playing the character of Lando Calrissian from “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”
I asked him to come over so I could make his portrait, unbeknownst to me I was in for a double whammy. As I raised up my camera to my eye, he pulled out a Colt 45 beer can from his holster and delivered a great photograph opportunity and chuckle from me.
For those not in the know, the character of Lando Calrissian was played by actor Billy Dee Williams who in the late 1980s was a successful brand ambassador for Colt 45…It works every time!
