The Roman Forum was the Eternal City’s birthplace. Today it exists in rubble, but with some history lessons you can imagine the grandeur of the place during its time. If you look closely you can see the Colosseum in the distance.
I spent a hot afternoon wandering the Forum and decided to come back in the evening to capture this historical landmark under the colors of twilight.

The Capitoline Hill is located between the Forum and the Campus Martius. It is one of the seven hills of Rome. In the middle, there is an Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius.
I wish they had more lights on to illuminate the buildings and statue, but I guess they were late in paying their electric bill.

My favorite fountain in Rome is Gian Lorenzo Bernini's Four Rivers Fountain in Piazza Navona. The fountain has carvings of four river gods representing the four quarters of the world. Our apartment was only a ten minute walk from here, so I was able to visit the piazza different times throughout the day. Obviously, I think the best time to visit is at dusk when the weather is cooler and the lights are illuminated.

The most photographed staircase in the world! The staircase at the Vatican Museum in Vatican City, Italy.
The Bramante staircase was designed by Giuseppe Momo. They are located by the gift shop and serves as an exit for the Vatican Museum.
I am finally getting around to posting my photos from my trip to Italy last summer. We started in Rome and visited Vatican City, Florence, Naples, Sorrento and the incredible Amalfi Coast.
La Dolce Vita!
