1,964 items
The city center of Arequipa, Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city center is composed of baroque buildings derived from white volcanic sillar stone, giving Arequipa the nickname 'Ciudad Blanca' (White City).

I had already taken some great night shots from around the historical center (Plaza de Armas) and spent one afternoon scouting new locations. While on my way to explore a new neighborhood, I crossed over a bridge, (Puente Grau), and looked back to see this spectacular view. I knew it would make for a great twilight shot so I returned later that day with my tripod. The Rio Chili and the amazing sunset were an added benefit!

Thanks guys for all your views, comments and favs!

Happy Travels!
