I drove to Fremont this afternoon. The plan was to try to get some more photos of the overwintering monarch butterflies at Ardenwood before they left. I got a GREAT surpprise instead! I not only saw one Great Horned Owl, but TWO!
This is the second one. I let this one sleep, since I didn't let the first one! =)

When I arrived at Ardenwood, I went searching for some monarch butterflies that may be on some of the flowers, so that I could hopefully get some more close-up shots of them.
I went to the eucalyptus grove of trees and I heard an owl! I decided to try to find it instead of photographing the moanrchs.
And I found it! =)=)=)
It was trying to sleep, but it didn't get any while I was there! I showed it to everyone that I saw! I was so excited!
And then I went to photograph the monarch clusters, but there was only a couple of clusters left! The others were gone! There were alot of butterflies flying around and mating high up in the trees though, so instead of photographing them, I watched them for a little while instead!
I decided to go to Coyote Hills for an hour before the garden closed and got to see the second owl and photograph it before I left! =)
