Bright yellow Mustard flowers in a roadside empty lot surrounded by houses, power lines, a gas station and shopping center near my mom's apartment complex brought "sunshine" into my gloomy, rainy day today. =)
Taken during a break between the storms. =)

I love mustard flowers!
To me, they're not an invasive species that is a nuisance. =)
I understand why some people don't like them, but there would just be trash in alot of the empty lots if the mustard flowers didn't take over. (There's still trash here, but you just can't see it).

I love this lot in Concord. I drive by it every week when my mom and I go grocery shopping. I look forward to seeing the mustard flowers here each year. I have been wanting to take photos of it for the last couple of weeks, but I've always had my mom with me, so today I stopped by on my way out to Clayton to go to Mt. Diablo State Park. I asked the owner if I could take some photos and she agreed. =)

More local signs of spring!
After photographing the undeveloped lot with the mustard flowers, trees and wheels that I love driving by every week, I stopped to photograph this lot that had trees with blossoms and was carpeted with both yellow mustard flowers and another yellow wildflower.
