This is Claude, the rare albino alligator, that lives at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. There is an opening above that you can look down into the swamp that he shares with alligator snapping turtles. He is allowed to be photographed from above, (I checked with a few of the staff, becasue I didn't see a posted sign and I was worried and didn't want to cause him any harm), so I took this photo of him without flash. He had his eyes closed, but one of the turtles was crawling up onto his back, so he opened his eyes. I cropped the photo, so that it would like I was more at eye level wth him and was crouching down by him to take his photo. You can view him more closely and see him better through the glass down below, but he is not allowed to be photographed in that area.

I should've gotten some better photos of these two characters, but I spent the majority of my time in the Rainforest dome trying to photograph the butterflies.

I got some shots with it's tongue out, but the tongue had too much motion blur, so I uploaded this one instead.
