This caterpillar picture was taken Friday afternoon, April 1, 2011 at EBRPD Sunol Regional Wilderness on the Canyon View Trail. (I think this might be a Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillar).

Update 02/08/12: This is a Variable Checkerspot caterpillar feeding on Bush Monkeyflower (Thank you Robert for the ID on both the caterpillar and the plant!). =)
