Kakkabe lies under the pristine and less explored shadows of Coorg’s highest peak Tadiyendamol.
The unexploited landscapes are trekker’s paradise which makes this coffee plantation a refreshing getaway from Bangalore. Due to lack of lodging facilities and connectivity, Kakkabe is visited only by few ‘not regular’ tourists.
This picturesque little village also has its little secret - Nalnad palace. Just before you start the trek for Tadiyendamol , right next to the local school you will find this little palace. There is a caretaker who will take personal interest in opening some of the stairs and dark alleys with small stories. This was the hunting lodge of Kodagu King Dodda Viraraja. As the name suggests Dodda means big and Viraraja means Brave King. The palace has some beautiful mural paintings and wooden carving on the doors from 18th century and worth a visit amidst ruins and jungles.
Visit for a tiring day hike to the highest peak of the region and then linger your weekends with Hot local cup of coffee.

You can see the silhouette of Rock memorial against the Rising Sun.
This sunrise was one of the beautiful sunrise of my life.
Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a monument and popular tourist attraction in Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters off mainland, India's southernmost tip.
It was built in honour of the visit of the great spiritual teacher Swami Vivekananda (1892 ) for deep meditation and enlightenment. He swam to this rock and meditated about the past, present and future of India. It is said that he attained enlightenment on the rock, and henceforth became a reformer and philosopher.
The merger of three seas - Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean can be seen from these rocks.
