While in NY on Friday, we stopped for coffee in a little restaurant on Fulton Square after we had walked from Greenwich village to the Brooklyn Bridge. When we were getting ready to leave, I saw these people walking past the windows carrying these mannequins. I rushed to get outside to see if I could catch them, assuming they were going to a store somewhere.
No, they started setting them up right in the middle there. One was all in pieces at first, arms on the ground, top half being snapped into place. The black T-shirts they wore were being smoothed. A sidewalk sweeper walked up to them with somebody's fingers. They were reattached.
Turned out it was a promotion for the movie "I Am Legend." Apparently these are the actual mannequins that are in the movie. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I'm not sure what the significance of these dummies are, exactly.
Anyway, it made for some good photos, especially with the "Bodies" exhibition being held behind them.

I'm full-on sick today. Staying under blankets on my couch and watching mindless TV, reading, looking at photos.
