Skid Row is expanding throughout the city, filled with desperate, drug-addicted, mentally ill street people and others unlucky enough to have fallen through the cracks into the endless cycle of homelessness.

A homeless woman in the virus-evacuated Claremont Village, California, the day after Easter. She would not tell me her name, but confided that she is "King of England." Despite her royal birth, she decided to take on "voluntary poverty," adding that she is doing what Jesus did, to "be with the poor."
