On the 24th June 2020 I was walking through the centre of Bury St Edmunds on a Market Day. One of the best outdoor markets to be found for fruit vegetables,clothing cakes , furniture and vinyl. To name a few things.
I saw Ray who is a very recongnisable person in the town as he is often to be seen with his mechanical cleaning machine especially on a market day which creates plenty of rubbish. He's a busy man and with his bluetooth earphones there was little time to chat. I believe he said he has worked for St Edmunsdbury Council for over 12 years, loves the job and is past normal retirement age. He carries on serving the public.
