The Lantana Treehoppers are also known as Lantana sap-sucking bugs. They are common in Brisbane but hardly be noticed. They camouflage very well. The insects are brown in colour and look like thorns on the host plant. Once we learnt how to recognize them, we find them on every stem of Lantana plants.

The Mango Planthopper is creamy white with a small pink spot on centre of each wing. They have a triangular shape with a right angled corner. They are found on a range of plants, and are a pest in the mango industry. There are other similar species that are pale green in colour. When a number of planthoppers gather on the same stem they look like spines on the plant.

Body length 5mm, male and female. This Treehopper is green in colour with two small brown horns. They usually rest motionlessly on stems. They camouflage well and hardly be seen unless we come very closely. They were found on young Acacia trees.
