Dear friends, greetings from Ottawa!

Since I stopped posting images to this Flicker account almost 2 years ago, I have tried to "drop by" every six months or so to say "Hi" to my old Flickr friends from over the years and to let you know how I'm doing.

I and my wife Marny are doing great... our health is good... I'll be 73 on my next birthday and I'm still getting out regularly to see and photograph my little feathered friends. Lately I have decided to give wildlife video a try and the above video is one of my recent attempts. I am enjoying myself immensely doing this new thing and because I stay with the subjects for a longer time in order to get some good footage I get to see all kinds of interesting behaviours.

Doing videos for me is kind of challenging because I use my old Nikon D500 which as some of you may know, is not really made for video recording like the new mirrorless cameras are. This forces me to develop my manual focusing skills and other techniques. So far I'm pretty happy with the results.
