The western side of Loch Ba. It's an oldie from a couple of years ago. Wasn't sure about it at the time but seeing it again after such a long time it's appeal has grown on me.

Another tree in the mist from a sunrise at the end of last year. One which, like the last, has been sitting in Lightroom for a while.
I liked how the tree's branches on the right hand side appeared to be grasping what little warmth the low winter sun gave as it tried to burn through the thick mist.

Okay, it's been a while, like a really long while. I hadn't realised how long it had been since my last upload. I have been taking pictures, not as many as before, but still taking pictures, nearly all small little pictures of my local woodland since I moved home last year. Gone are the vast Highland mountain scapes as I'm just not able coping with chronic back pain and fatigue issues.
A lot has changed since that last upload both personally and globally. I'm a little behind the seasons, this is from autumn last year, by the time I get round to uploading snow pictures it will be summer.
Hope everyone is getting by as best we can during these difficult times.
Hope to upload a lot more regularly in the future, I certainly have a few pictures to catch up on.

Don't you just love nature!

This little sapling has taken root in a small crack in the rock. How it gathers enough nutrients to eke out a life defies me. The canopy above is thick and dense with very little sunlight filtering through yet it still manages to catch a rare brief ray of warmth and life. Of all the trees I admire on my travels around the Highlands I really hope this little guy makes it.
Initially I uploaded this in mono. I had mono in mind before taking it so naturally went straight to Silver Efex to process. I've since done the colour and actually prefer it. The colour makes better use of the limited light breaking through the canopy above allowing the little sapling to shine more.
