A restored slave quarters. This sits in front of the original Nolan House (images to follow) and is a restored version of the quarters which stands next to the new Nolan Plantation house.
One of my more dramatic HDR efforts!

I left the fence slightly out of focus thinking it would concentrate the eye on the barn. Not sure it worked

Directly across from the restored slave quarters. I had seen this place on Flickr before, but didn't know where it was, its pretty hidden back from the road. After shooting the slave quarters I turned around and there it was directly opposite. I did consider walking up closer, but then heard faint music from some where... after further inspection I noticed a trailer next to the house where the music was coming from, a couple of seconds later a truck exited the drive way you see here with me stood there, tripod, camera etc all setup to shoot. He didn't seem to care anyway, plus I was shooting from the road anyway.

Unrestored shack by the Nolan Plantation house. I didn't take any shots of the Plantation house this time as the light was crap with respect to its position. Ironically though, the last time I was here, I took shots of the plantation house, but not of this shack :-)

A shot from our visit to Covington, Georgia at thanksgiving. Its funny, the shots of this store at the time I took it I felt would be the best ones I got while down there, in the end my shot of the bank I liked much more, so I never got around to doing anything with this shot till now, and I actually kinda like this.
The shot looks like a HDR, it is not, it was made to look that way in Adobe Lightroom by the very scientific method of bumping the recovery, fill light and blacks to 100% then backing off the saturation to -60ish. I used that as a base for some photoshop filters - channel mixer, selective saturation, curves & gradients.
I got chatting to the store owner while taking these shots, he was a friendly chap, I promised him I'd send him the finished result, not sure if it will be to his tastes, but a print is on its way to him!
