More feeder shots- but in full red dress. This male (I call him yellow leg) is the mate of the female shown earlier, and their nest shots are coming soon). Based on the songs, we have three territories around he yard. I have photographed two of the males on one of the females.

More feeder shots- but in full red dress. A word about the set up: the feeder is festooned with a branch rising about 3 feet above the suet and peanuts holders. the birds like to wait their turn on this branch. behind them, about 60 yards, is a forest which in the afternoon provides this lovely dark bokeh. The best afternoon light comes when the sun hides behind a passing cloud. With the camera on a tripod and a beer in hand, I am ready to record the visitors.

More from the feeder ...this handsome bird made its first appearance i the yard this year, and keeps coming to the suet. as the chicks grow the visits get more frequents, which is why I think it is breeding in the adjacent park.
