We went for a friends and family gathering in Batesville Indiana, and a totality happened...Never tired of experiencing one of the weirdest and most Wonderfull natal phenomenons. Next one in 2026, Iceland! see you there!

Since we had 3 minutes of totality, i captured an image every three minutes starting 2pm (shortly after first contact) to fall somewhere within the totality. it worked!
Assembled the 55 frames in StarStax

Good bye Moon..until 2026. We got antsy to get on the road home and did not quite wait long enough for the last minute. the way back was crowded with thousands of other sky gazers returning to their home states after the eclipse. Well worth the extra 40 minutes!

The third contact is starting when the moon surface with its peaks and valleys allows the sunlight to shine through creating Baily’s Beads Effect. I did not time this one as well and the exposure was also too low... 2026! based on very crude calculation on my screen when the sun diameter was 225mm, the prominence was 4.5 earth diameters high (1 sun diameter=109 east diameters).
