(2/5) Five images taken on a gray Friday morning (2/9/18) on a test run of a repaired body. all images were taken hand held, at 1/160, f8, ISO450. This and the next 3 were compensated with 1.67EV over exposure in the field (+1.75 stops). I had no plan to actually get any keepers in the 15 minute window i had on my way to work, I simply wanted to see how well the repairs have worked on any target I would find. As I arrived, I saw an eagle sitting on Bonnie's favorite spot. A quick glance in the screen conformed this was a new arrival, a subadult bird. It departed in a hurry and before I could feel any guilt for having spooked it, Bonnie arrived to claim her territory, set on the branch and started calling. I switched my location to get a front view and resumed shooting her vocalizations, too excited to notice I was still at a low shutter speed and should adjust. Bonnie kept calling, then bowed her head. Since I only saw what was framed by my 850mm of glass (1200mm on a full frame equivalent) I was not prepared to see Clyde arriving into the frame and performing a dry run ... possibly reaffirming their bond after the strange (presumably female) was chased away. Later in the day they were photographed mating. Eggs on the way! (and yes, I am pleased with the repairs :-))

This bird came right at us; not often do I manage to get good sharp images of a hard on incoming bird.

We saw this lifer only at one spot along the ring road. It seems that several couples dumped there gosling into a "nursery"
