This behemoth bull elephant seal had no challengers. Occasionally, he would raise his head and bellow to keep it that way.
This is a more typical scene than the one I posted a couple of days ago...a beach crowded with mom's and pups surrounding a dominant bull. I count 17 pups in this small section of beach.
