Prairie Dog on Hawk Alert! It was on watch and spotted a bird, made its warning call and warned the colony.
The black-tailed prairie dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) is a rodent of the family Sciuridae found in the Great Plains of North America, I grew up in Lubbock and remember them well, go to visit/photograph them every chance I have when there. Summer in Lubbock.
