Bamberg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The old town hall (Altes Rathaus) was first mentioned in 1387. It is located on an artificial island in the Regnitz River. These days, it houses a collection of Meissen porcelain and Strassbourg faïence (the Ludwig Collection Bamberg - Sammlung Ludwig Bamberg).
