The village of Bridge is situated in the Nailbourne valley in a rural setting on the old Roman road, Watling Street, formerly the main road between London and Dover. The village lies about 4 km south-east of Canterbury.

The church is well preserved with a Norman doorway reset in the north transept, and one to the west wall of the nave with waterlead capitals.

Arcades contain some remains of 12th and 13th century work and there is an unusual carved panel of good quality from the Late Perpendicular period in the form of a Norman tympanum set in chancel wall (see photo).

The pub has an 18th century exterior with late medieval core. There's an early 16th century inscription on the fireplace lintel. The house is visible in Schellinks' 1661 drawing of Bridge High Street.
