Sant Llorenç de la Muga is a town in the Alt Empordà comarca in Girona province, Catalonia. It has a population of about 177 people.
The medieval stone houses form much of the defensive perimeter, but there are two portcullised thirteenth-century gates - one on the west, the other opening onto an old cami to Girona - and stout towers at scattered points, for example behind the twelfth-century parish church. Entering Sant Llorenc de la Muga from the north, you pass a lovely, massive fourteenth-century bridge - like Besalu's in miniature - and a millrac leading down to a dilapidated mill.
