One of two cats I had for many years. Sepia-toned the old-fashioned smelly way... old scan of an old print

Playing with my scanner again. This is a scan of an 8x10 print from back in the day. Late 1980s I think. Same vintage as my "Cat House Moon" print (flic.kr/p/yzz2s). No Photoshop, beyond some cleanup after scanning. I think the process here was multiple exposures in the darkroom directly onto 8x10 photo paper, using masks of black paper. First masked the sky to project the stone wall neg onto the bottom half, then switched to the other, opposite mask to allow exposure of a neg of some clouds onto the top half, then finally expose the kitties through a mask made of Kodalith film.

No Photoshop, beyond some cleanup after scanning. The process here was multiple exposures in the darkroom directly onto 8x10 photo paper, using various masks. The moon mask was a small plate, the stripes were drawn by hand on a plastic page protector, and the upper kitty mask was created on a small piece of Kodalith film and projected.

No Photoshop. This montage was done entirely in the darkroom, back in the day. The elements were exposed in turn onto a sheet of 8x10 Kodalith high contrast sheet film, then contact printed to paper. The "moon" is actually a small plate or saucer. My cats. Not my house...
