My replacement Canon 7D arrived 3 hours before I departed (thank goodness!) and it seems to work OK... disappointingly the shutter release mechanism has died on my old 7D (looks like a common problem according to the internet) and just over 30 days outside the warranty period. Looks like it's about £200 GBP repair.

A record shot only.... an amazing damselfly (the photo doesn't do it any justice!). Unfortunately they would only perch on the vegetation mat in the middle of the river... normally I would just wade out, but this was last call on the way to the airport and I was wearing my best trousers etc in a (desperate) attempt to get an upgrade!!!
