I watched this bull at Elk Island National Park this morning. He was actively defending his herd but no one would mess with him. This image gives a good size comparison to him, a full grown cow, a yearling and a calf.

Wood Bison were re-introduced to the Nordquist area in B.C in 1995 and can be seen along Highway 97. This male was rolling in a bison rub when we stopped. He got up and started was bellowing at nearby males. The tail tells the tale.
