Crex egregia. Only saw this one for a few seconds. It was crossing the road ahead of a road block.

Gallinula galeata. when traveling, one often overlooks the common birds. I thought the was a common moorhen. which it was until 2011. Now it has it's own name. (not that it cares)

Rallus obsoletus. Until this evening, I thought this was a Clapper Rail. It is however a separate closely related species. It was only recently separated from the Clapper Rail and is not in Sibley Birds 2 ed. They are Near Threatened and found mainly in the San Fransisco Bay area. I photographed the one early in the morning on the bay near the airport before our flight home.
