Waterton National Park. Connor and I enjoyed a sunny day in July photographing birds in the burnt forest along Red Rock Canyon Road.

Cooking Lake. Only the second time I have seen Sedge Wrens. The other time was in Ontario in 2016.

We coaxed this little guy to come out of the underbrush. Lifer # 2. Compared to Peter's photo on iBird to confirm sighting.

I have seen a few more of these now and realize this is not a wren. It is a Zitting Cisticola! It is considered an Old World warbler and sometimes called the fan-tailed warbler. Recent taxonomy has given the cisticola's a separate family: Cisticolidae.
