Normally hard to get close to these birds. This one is nesting in a fence box instaed of a river bank.

I think this is the same one Patrick photographed on June 12. Maybe a Tree Swallow as their fleglings are supposed to be brown. The throat is white like a tree swallow and cap extends in front of eye unlike a barn swallow. We will have to see who feeds it. Maybe a hybrid?

Follow up June 18. Connor and I revisited the site on Saturday. There were two barn swallows with this bird. When it flew, it had a long forked tail.
