This is my first Snowy Owl of the season. When I saw it silhouetted on the post from a distance, I wasn't quite sure what it was. Once I got closer, I realized that it looked different because I could see its wings. It stayed that way for about 20 minutes until the wind picked up, then it shook its feathers and voila: the normal profile with the hidden wings!
