Gold Bar Park, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
7D | 300/2.8L + 2x | 1/30 sec., f/10, ISO 100; handheld.

One big set today just to get rid of them. There will always be plenty of opportunities to shoot some Mallards in Flight throughout the year anyway.

The lead shot along with the photos in the first comment box are all pan blurs at slow shutterspeed.

I've also included shots using fast shutterspeed for those who prefer sharp images.

Enjoy!

Big Lake Interpretive Trail, Sturgeon County, AB, Canada.
7D and 300/2.8L | 1/4 sec., f/32, ISO 100; on tripod.

A capture from last year using a combination of slow shutter, panning, and the wind. The image reflects today's windy weather condition. The fiery-look of the wind-blown grasses/reeds was what I envisioned. Enjoy!

There were about thousands of Snow Geese observed that day, but they were not in one big flock as seen in Don's and Bernd's photos, which captured millions of Snow Geese in one big flock. The photos in this series only caught about 40-60% of the numbers that I observed that day. Some were already on water, some were looking for a spot to land, and others were either flying away or coming in.

In situation where you have a large flock of birds and you have very little time to compose when the birds are about to land or blast off together, what would you do? Shoot wide, shoot long, shoot fast, or shoot slow?

Continuing from my yesterday's blur post. Here's a shot of pan blur of an incoming moving car.
Enjoy!
