Sleepy Loon

While trying to sleep, this Loon eventually floated its way toward the shoreline of the lake. While it didn't do any wings-flapping or stretching, I was happy to get some closeups of this Loon. More photos to come shortly. Enjoy!

It was a real treat to photograph these birds in our local pond at a reasonable distance while these Loons were waiting for the lakes to thaw. At least 29 Loons were observed. In one corner of the lake, I saw at least six at close proximity to each other, and once in awhile, they would appear out of the water right next to the shore.
