Just some casual shooting in the rural areas, and I might take a brief break from bird photography in the outskirt areas over the Christmas holidays (and to cut down some mileage on my car). In the mean time, still a few more bird shots in the next little while.

Rob, no birds here, so don't spend 20 mins looking for birds here! LOL!

A pair of these were hanging out together. They were tame and safe enough for some close approaches without putting a hole through anyone's head. One photo added to the comment box below. Enjoy!

This series shows the adult Gyrfalcon, which was desperately going after the pigeons at the grain elevator. It was a different Gyrfalcon than the one I captured here not too long ago. This Gyrfalcon was noticeably bigger and faster compare to the Prairie Falcon. Enjoy!

Emily Murphy Park, Edmonton, AB, Canada

The warbler activity was kind of slow at the park that day. The Magnolia Warbler decided to take that opportunity to get some camera attention. Don and I managed to walk away with some great photos of this guy. Check out his shots (as well as his other warbler shots in the series).

William Hawrelak Park, Edmonton, AB, Canada
May 27, 2011

Don D left me a message in voicemail on Thursday night regarding about these birds and possibly the Eurasian-Collared Doves. So I went to the park on Friday after work to photograph them. After all the discussions read, these doves were later ID'd as possibly the Barbary Doves (aka Ring-necked Doves, Cape Turtle Doves), and might be irresponsibly released into the wild. These birds are domesticated and typically live in captivity. Hope they survive and/or find a rightful owner.
