Saw two Merlins in two different areas on the same day. Not a surprise 'cuz the sparrows and various songbirds along the side of the road were their food source.
The shot below shows the American Kestrel, which was perching on a tree branch at the side of the road. I drove past it of course and thought it was a Peregrine Falcon initially. By the time I reversed back and with my camera ready hoping for some perch shots, the bird took off and flew to the other side of my car. Somehow I blew another great opportunity while it was in flight next to the road facing the strong wind.
