Again, I wasn't sure which shot to choose as the featured photo in this series (first one vs. the second one). The first one shows the whole side body sharply with good lighting while the second one, under the same lighting, has a bit of a pose and obviously watching me carefully.
At the time of the capture, these guys were fairly easy to approach...much easier than the Semipalmated Sandpipers (from my last series). While staying low, I was able to crawl in and photograph them within 10 meters. Just too bad there wasn't a lot of shorebirds this year compare to last year. I'm hoping things will change around in late summer.
