This was an accidental find last weekend, such a fabulously marked caterpillar IMO. The last one of these I found was too long ago to remember.

This Caterpillar which I think is starting to pupate, was well concealed in a small tree at a local site.

I think I have the right id. A first for me, I spotted this little caterpillar crossing a pathway on the downs recently.

The nettle beds at Papercourt Meadows are full of these caterpillars busily munching away at the leaves at the moment which is great to see. Plenty of butterflies to come hopefully.
