We had family day out in Canterbury yesterday as my daughter is off to study Environmental Biology at the University there in September.

What a wonderful old city it is, this shot shows the Westgate which is the last survivor of Canterbury's seven medieval gates standing on the banks of the crystal clear waters of Kentish Stour. At 60 foot tall its the largest surviving city gate in England. It was built around 1379.

This shot was taken on my phone and processed in Photoshop & Photomatix Pro.

In need of a little HDR fix I thought I'd have a play with a single shot I took the other evening. By creating 2 under and 2 overexposed shots in Photoshop and then combining them with the original in Photomatix Pro and adjusting subtlety this is the result. It's not HDR photography in its purest form I know but hopefully the result is pleasing.
