This male Green Woodpecker was so engrossed in enjoying some warmth on a very cold morning that he didn't seem too bothered by my presence. I was just settling in for a few more shots when a dog walker appeared and he flew off.

This White-fronted Goose turned up on my patch last weekend with a couple of Canadian Geese. Interestingly I photographed the same bird just after Christmas at a different location in Surrey when it was with 2 other White-fronts and a flock of Greylags. For interest their belly markings are individual to each bird which makes them identifiable.
