We were out at Seaside taking pictures of the Eider and the sea was a bit rough and the light wasn't the best. I liked this shot of one of the surfers and the wave he caught. I tend to visualize surfers as 20 something with a golden tan and stripped down to little but the board. Can't do that in Oregon waters.
The things I really like about this shot is that the action has been frozen and is sharp, right down to the foam in the waves and the path of the board. Secondly that it so epitomizes surfing in Oregon in the winter, gray days, cool water and heavy surf.

My first hike to Ramona despite having lived in this area for 30 years now. I've gone to many falls much further away. I've got no explanation for why it's taken me so long.

One source says that this is one of the most popularly photographed falls in the Columbia Gorge.

The wife and I got to spend the better part of a day in the Tetons with our boys and their wives. We were greeted with blue skies and minimal fog. Doesn't get much better than that!
One other observation- We had Oxbow to ourselves for first light. Never had that before. Course it was frozen over with no reflection! :-)

A quick trip through the Southwest yielded some neat shots of Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley. Though we would have liked to have visited some Anasazi ruins, we opted for Natural Bridges National Monument and were surprised by this neat ruin.
