Several of my contacts had posted shots of this rarity. I had time today to look for him and was fortunate to see him airborne. I do not how he escaped, but he's now enjoying our fine weather in S. California.

Lesser Flamings are from Africa and India and are near threatened. I don't know how it will be able to find a mate here.
