I thought I wasn't going to get any good shots the other day, but just as I was heading home this Red-winged Blackbird flew by me in good light. You just never know what you'll get.

Great-tailed Grackles are really loud and not too fearful. June gloom helps to bring out the beauty of their feathers. This shot is best enlarged.

The second shot shows the Grackle taking flight; the third is a shot of the female.

It was really hot today, so I didn't plan on birding until I heard the call of the Red-shouldered Hawk. I went running with my lens and got some shots, but while I was taking shots of Hawk this Hooded Oriole came into my neighborhood.

So was able to take some shots of the Hood in the hood.
