The more I watch birds fly, the more I learn how they adjust their bodies to make them more aerodynamic such as this Osprey crossing its legs in flight. If you even look closer, you can see its talons are curled.

Usually Ospreys will carry a fish in alignment with their body for the least wind resistance. I'm not sure why this Osprey isn't.

The Osprey landed on his snag up high overlooking one of the bays in Bolsa Chica. I was on the cliff across from him, which put me at his eye level, about 32m (104 feet) away. The white background is the typical marine layer that keeps the Southern California coastline cool in summer.
