One of the migrating herds we came across on the central Serengeti. Placing the isolated acacia tree in the centre of the frame provided a focus point in an otherwise chaotic composition.

The sun rises at York Bay in the Falkland Islands setting the sky aglow. Ducks swim in the chilly surf along with any penguins willing to take a risk. A sealion has been patrolling the beach watching for unsuspecting birds. The sealions are large but very agile in the water. Penguins are a favorite meal. Cape Pembroke Lighthouse is silhouetted in the distance, perhaps a warning to boats and birds, alike.
