I have so so so many pictures from when my mom and her friend Kathy visited to bum around the environs as I gave them camera lessons (turned out great, adhered to the axiom that teacher == student), but I've only gone through them with any dilligence just now. I had to put this one up immediately. I
love it. And there are another 98 picked to process! Not all of them will make the cut, but I'm pretty excited by their chances. :)
We shot pictures all over the place, running and gunning to whip them into new habits... Hearst Castle, Cambria, Twin Peaks, Strybing Arboretum, Coyote Creek Park, Ft. Funston, Filoli Gardens, my back yard and house... thousands of images... the idea of taking a first pass at rating the worthy was a little daunting. Turns out my mom hadn't really looked at hers since she got back home either! I called to ask if she noticed how freakin' awesome the golden hour is in her photos, but no, you can't notice if you don't look.
I take after my mom quite a lot.
Check out the
ridiculous detail in this shot... you can count the teeth on her zipper. You can see she's wearing the Promaster camera strap she just bought that morning. She likes to shop. She's a hardcore consumer. An addled mix of research, dilligence, and insane lust. Sound familiar?
