Cornus Kousa flower.
This variation is based on the Striking Grit preset in Topaz Studio 2.
This is a heavily textured version which I really quite like. I must experiment a bit more with textures because the possibilities are endless.
See this version for more detail of the initial processing.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image and the series :)

Cornus Kousa flower.
This is a Cornus Kousa flower in my front garden, taken in summer 2018.
The "petals" are in fact bracts (that is modified outer coverings, or sepals, of the flower) which means they last ages, typically six or eight weeks, and change colour slowly during that time. A gorgeous plant, and one of my (many) favourites...
I liked the colour contrast and the curvy lines on the flower and wondered whether this image would make a good basis for one of my explorations of effects for Sliders Sunday.
This is the most photoreal of the set, processed, as they all are, using Topaz Studio 2.
For this one I started with the Golden Purple preset, with added tweaks. I'll include a link to the in-camera original in the first comment so you can see how far we came.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image, and the series.
[Handheld in daylight.
Developed in Capture One to accentuate the colour contrast without overcooking them. Reduced Clarity, increased structure.
Processed in Affinity Photo using Inpainting to get rid of some imperfections (though I left the cobwebs :) ).
Sharpened with Unsharp mask.
Mangled in Topaz Studio 2.]

Cornus Kousa flower.
This variation is based on one of my own presets in Topaz Studio 2, based loosely on my Paeony Play set from last week. I try and reach differing endpoints from the same start as part of the fun.
I like this for the changed colour scheme and the texturing. What fun.
This is the one from the set that I thought I would publish in the Sliders Sunday group. I hope you enjoy it :)
See this version for more detail of the initial processing.
The first comment gives a link as usual for Sliders Sunday to the in-camera original I started with.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image and the series. Happy Sliders Sunday everyone :)

Cornus Kousa flower.
This variation is based on the Charcoal II preset in Topaz Studio 2, which mainly relies on the Impression filter to simulate painting. Much tweaked from the preset...
I wanted to do a monochrome version for this set, partly to advance my 100x monochrome project. And why not do a painterly one? Or so the justification runs.
See this version for more detail of the initial processing.

This variation is based on the Mysterious preset in Topaz Studio 2. I rather liked the dark and science fiction look...
