When is motion not?
The thing I find strangest about this mini-series is how images of something moving look so stationary. I think we expect motion to be depicted in certain ways in a still image.
Often we think something is moving because we expect it to be moving (like cars on a motorway). But take that information away, or confuse it like here, then it suddenly looks like it is stationary (though rarely stationery).
This is the local bus taken with continuous shutter release and in-camera multiple exposure. It's ten exposures but I think we only see the bus in about five.
I admire your stoicism if you are still reading the commentary on this series. This is the last (I can hear the crowd cheering outside now :) ).
It's probably my favourite of the whole set. Partly, of course, because buses are very rare here, but also because it's just so abstract, like a building or perhaps a train at a station.
And your Friday afternoon challenge is to spot the car that was going the other way and appeared as the bus passed. (Hint: look for different hubcaps :) ).
For my 100x Motion challenge.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy 100x :)
